Flash Fiction Friday #37
That’s right, FFF is back and it’s bold and rough and it’s tough but I don’t care. You know why? ‘Cause a karate man bruise on the inside!
The rules:
You will send in your suggestion for starter sentences anytime during the week up to 12:00 noon CST on Friday.
If your sentence is not chosen and you feel it is too wonderful not to be chosen, you will send it in again the next week.
You will write an anecdote, short story, or novel length prose poem beginning with the sentence below.
You will add comments to this post indicating your desire to participate and the completion of your story.
You may join in at any time prior to the deadline.
You will display your story as a post on your own blog.
You will be done by Monday 12:00 Noon CST.
Those are all the rules, if you ask me about the rules or if something is or isn't allowed by the rules, I will karate man all over you until you’re nothing but bruises on the outside.
Here we go… “3.. 2.. 1..”
Have fun.

Um, isn't this the title to the Billy Wilder movie with Cagney? "2001; A Space Odyssey?"
I'm in tomorrow morning if I can get it in before 10AM PST.

Cagney was in 2001?
Debby is right. Your hero and mine, Billy Ray Valentine played by Eddie Murphy back when he was funny.
"Cagney was in 2001?"
Yeah, Kubrick got about two weeks into filming and decided to go in another direction. Still, you can see the deleted scenes on the Criterion Collection version including:
Jimmy giving HAL a grapefruit in the red eye.
As well as Cagney reciting during the crucial finale when HAL is about to cut him loose from the air-lock, "look at me now, Ma! Top of the world!"
Unfortunately Stanley thought it didn't quite mesh.
No, dude. I meant "One, Two, Three" by Billy Wilder http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0055256/
and I should've put an "or" between that and "2001."
